Stock

Apart from taking symbolic scenes and objects, I’m always looking to take photos of people for my stock photography.  If you’re interested in being a model, please read this page to find out more. You can also contact me if you have any questions that I haven’t covered here.

What sort of people can be a model?
Anyone!

Do I only use professional models?
Absolutely not! There’s a first time for everyone, and if you’re comfortable in front of a camera, you’ll be fine.

What sort of photographs do I need?
I’m looking to produce marketable photos for the stock photography industry. My models will be presenting concepts in areas such as healthy living, fitness and business. See here for examples of stock photography. You won’t be forced to do shots you’re uncomfortable with!

What do the models get from the shoot?
Amateur models receive a small book showing their best photos, as well as a CD of all the photos. After every shoot, professional models will get a 30 x 20cm print and a compcard for sending to model agencies, and CD of all the photos.

Is the shoot for free?
Yes it is! I will also pay for your travel costs to the location of the shoot.

Where do we go for the shoot?
This depends on the aim of the shoot. Sometimes it will be outside, sometimes in a studio at my house, and sometimes in an office environment.

How long does the shoot last?
Typically it will last between 45 minutes and 1.5 hours.

What should we wear?
This will be discussed well ahead of the shoot, and depends on the aim of the shoot. For example, in an office shoot, you would wear business clothes. Lifestyle shots would involve casual dress. You will provide your own clothes.

Can models bring a friend for company?
Of course, if you feel more comfortable bringing a friend or family member, you’re welcome. Please let me know beforehand.

How do we become a model for you?
You can contact me here, and email me a few photos of yourself. We’ll take it from there!

What will you do with the photos?
I’ll pick the best to sell as mictostock photos. Microstock is The Big Thing these days in the stock photography industry. You may see my portfolio for example shots, and websites for microstock agencies, such as iStockphoto.
