About

Andrew LilleyHi and thanks for visiting my site. My full time job is an interaction designer. In a nutshell, I help design software to make it easier and more efficient to use. I take photographs in my spare time.

I have a passion for design, and my idea of good design is something that fits the user’s needs like a glove while at the same time being beautiful to experience. The areas that interaction designers work in mostly are computer interfaces, such as websites and applications.  However I believe that stock photography is another area, albeit unusual, that can benefit from my knowledge of interaction design.

Good computer interfaces and stock photographs are both created with knowledge about the users of those products – who they are and what they need the product for. And both products need to be beautiful in order to please the user.  Pleasing the user makes for good business!

My skills as an interaction designer help me produce visually pleasing photos that are suitable for their intended uses. Being an advocate of visual simplicity in design, I try to make my photos clean and clear, and free from distracting visual elements. This website was also designed with this in consideration.

The main tools I use for photography are various Canon ‘L’ lenses, a full frame Canon digital SLR, and Lastolite studio lighting and accessories.  I edit the photos using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom running on an iMac.  I also use Adobe Photoshop the editing that Lightroom can’t manage.
